• 1841 Charlotte Lorimer born Madras older sister of Philip.
• 1842 Peter Nicol Russell Established Foundry 
• 1843 3rd of June born one of twins in Madras India Philip was the eldest son of Scottish parents Dr Alexander Lorimer A garrison assistant surgeon MD of the East India Company’s service and Charlotte or Phillipa née Henderson.
• 1843 9th November Philip’s twin brother George Alexander Robert Lorimer died at 5 months of age.
• 1844 23rd September  Peter Alexander Lorimer born date suggested in his book (to be Philip’s manuscript) presented to him on birthday age of 18, he was between 1 and 2 years younger than Philip per census.advertised birth in the Indian Mail 7th October 1844. MSS dated to Peter 23rd September 1862 18th birthday or coming of age gift from Aunties and family.

• 1845 9th March Mary Underwood love of Philip born 
• 1845 Nathaniel Martin married Elizabeth Rowe calculated per death certificate. Philip's parents in law.

• 1849 Robert Henderson Lorimer born Madras brother of Philip.
• 1850 Mary Agatha Martin born to Nathaniel Martin and Elizabeth Martin (Rowe). Mary was to be wife of Peter Lorimer in 1878 at age 28 years
• 1851 census Philip 7 being looked after by Grandmother. Charlotte 9 Peter 6 whilst parents are on Furlough in Australia.
• 1851 Alexander Lorimer came to Australia whilst in Australia leaving the care of Charlotte 9, Philip 7 and Peter 6 to the care of his Grandmother Charlotte Lorimer(Wood) Alexander's mother.  The other 2  children are with parents still in Madras, Mary and Robert.
• 1851 Philip’s sister Jessie Lorimer born in Madras.
• 1853 Birth of Annie Martin younger sister of Mary Ann and 2nd daughter of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Martin(Rowe).
• 1853 Janet Susan Elizabeth Lorimer born Madras sister of Philip. Known as Elizabeth in 1871 census.
• 1854 to 1859 Philip attended the Academy and the University of Edinburgh attended classes 1 to 5 out of a seven year course. Peter took classes 1 to 4 from 1855 to 1859. University records don't mention him. Philip spent 6 years in the academy and 2 years in the university. As a youth he was a favourite with all he associated and was evaded as a very good story teller.
• 1857 8th November Death of Nathaniel Martin father of Mary Martin in Dapto Wollongong. Mary 7 years and Annie 4 at the time.
• 1859 23rd June Peter Nicol Russell marries Philip's sister Charlotte Lorimer 
• 1860 Peter Nicol Russell returned to London but regularly visited Australia and his interests
• 1861 census Philip 17 years, all family except Charlotte sister at home. Peter was aged 16 years.
• 1861 Peter Nicol Russell and Charlotte address Elizabeth Street Paddington. Per census
• 1861 30th January Charlotte Wood/Lorimer Alexander's mother, and Philips grandmother, died.
• 1861 28th April Philip’s departure from London on the Marquis of Argyle sailing ship 3 month trip. Philip still 17 years of age.
• 1861 26th July Philip arrived in Sydney on Marquis of Argyle one of 6 passengers cargo ship. Ships details below

• 1862  Philip has a job on a squatting station on the McIntyre River in the New England District close to the border of Queensland. Map number 3 see map
• 1862 Alexander Lorimer retired on full pay from Her Majesty's Indian Military Forces possibly following the death of his mother to look after his children”
• 1863 to 1868 Philip stated he did a lot of writing but “ lost many of my early MSS through hard living”.
• 1863 Philip crossing into Queensland he proceeded to another station near Warwick, map number 6, see below taking 12 over landers and taking 5000 sheep and 1000 cattle to the Flinders River district in the Gulf of Carpentaria where they intended to take up new country.  Letter from Peter-

• 1863 13th March Peter Lorimer living at address of 11 Brunswick Street Hillside the family home per poem. In MSS.
• 1863 25th June Peter Lorimer embarked on City of Quebec Aberdeen ship to Australia to meet up with Philip.
• 1863 and 1864 Peter and Charlotte’s address is 32 William Street Paddington per census 
• 1863 15th October Peter Lorimer arrives in Sydney, the sole passenger on the Aberdeen Ship, ‘The City of Quebec’.
• 1864 Philip is at Cornish Creek where he spent 8 months map number 9 travelled throughout NSW and Queensland.
• 1864 Philip came across Frank Gardiner the Bushranger and shared a meal with him.
• 1864 October the poem ‘To a young lady’ or Golden Tresses SV claimed written in 1861 in SV this is an unpublished version.
• 1864 Philip’s brother Peter soon joined him and signed an agreement for 2 and a half years. Travelled as water stages permitted ten to fifteen miles per day as far as the Aramac Creek, Thomson River, then fifty miles of desert to Cornish Creek and another ninety miles to the Flinders Rangers.
• 1864 year end Philip together with Nash established Cambridge Downs Station.
• 1865 8th March Death of Sophia Smith 16 years and 6 months Manly Beach natural causes effusion of the brain late of William Street Paddington per death notice of father Henry Smith
• 1865 Philip in Cloncurry till 24th May 1866 map number 4 see map 
• 1866  In early part of the year Philip caught gulf fever and travelled 600 miles to Port Denison with the last loads of wool map number 11 See map. There he recovered and returned with supplies.
• 1866 24th May letter to Charlotte from Port Denison during treatment for gulf fever
• 1866 4th June the death of Duncan McIntyre leader of the Leichardt Expedition
• 1866 end of year Philip returned to Cloncurry to find Peter had the fever. He recovered with some medical help and they went onto Burketown
• 1866 17th September Peter taken ill with gulf fever and received medical attention from the McIntyre expedition in search of Leichhardt.
• 1866 8th November claimed and documented in media Death of Mary Ann Underwood all newspaper clippings and notices. Her death was seemingly unknown by Philip until his return to Sydney. The Underwood family were Anglican determined from death of Sarah in 1875 service at St Matthias Church, Paddington.
• 1866 14th November William Slowman, died as the new in charge of the Leichardt expedition from heart attack and sunstroke  
• 1866 December Barnett arrived to take over leadership and recommence search for Leichardt.
• 1866 12 December Philip and Peter’s agreement with Nash ends and they begin journey retracing their steps back to Bowen Downs station
• 1867 11th February letter from Philip to his sister from Bowen Downs Station, Thomson River map number 12 see map
• 1867 21st February the death of Thomas Underwood the brother of Mary Ann. He was buried same grave as Mary Ann.
• 1867 5th May Philip writing letter again from Bowen Downs station to his sister three months later 
• 1867 May Peter left the group due to illness. It would be the case at this time that the manuscript book and probably photo album presented to Peter on his 18th Birthday were now  in Peter’s possession and given to Philip to use as a writing book or manuscript. The first poem Remembrance was composed at Hashers Creek Thompson’s River in 1868 just after the time of Peters leaving for Port Denison. The books remained in Philips possession from then until the early 1870s as depicted in his numerous pieces of poetry in therein, being his MSS.
• 1867 Philip arrived in Burketown and spent time there till the middle of 1867 map number 5 see map
• 1867 Philip hopes to be in Sydney before Christmas.
• 1868 August the fever had abated in Burketown 
• 1868 to 1870 spent time on stations on the Thomson’s River and at Wallumbilla on the Darling Downs writing love poetry. Not far from Kilmorey location of a few poems in MSS map number 1,13,8 see map

• 1868 8th November death of Marianne Underwood per his poetry and editorials and Songs and Verses. Questionable how he found out of her death in that in reality she died 1866. Indications are that Philip remained travelling and working in Queensland until December 1869?

• 1872 January Lorimer's Tobacconists shop 128 King Street Sydney destroyed by fire as part of the large fire at Prince of Wales theatre many shops destroyed and 3 killed.

• 1872 March Philip is the DM of the no 49 Excelsior Orange Lodge.
• 1872 1st April ‘Meditation on an Easter Monday after visiting Randwick’ last piece of poetry until 1884  Unpublished see below. Following this poem this was the last of Philips poetry and it would be likely the book was given back to Peter and remained in his possession until his death in 1917 and then passed onto his daughters.

• 1872 to 1873 Philip and Peter living at 263 Castlereigh Street Sydney and tobacconist address is at 414 George Street Sydney.
• 1874 July Peter Lorimer met with Andrew Hume the explorer in Sydney and was given a photo from Andrew Hume explorer. Hume tried to get Peter to be part of his expedition in search of Leichardt. Peter declined due to what was to be founded concerns. Most of Hume’s party perished in the expedition?

• 1876 to 1877 Philip and Peter lived at a boardinghouse at 133 Elizabeth Street Redfern. Was this with Elizabeth, Mary, and Annie? The Annie in the poem Philips partner. Mary to be Peters wife?
• 1877 12th February Philip Lorimer was published as no longer being able to collect or receive money's on behalf of James Markey Surgeon Regent Street Sydney. Was he performing collections together with Peter and became untrustworthy. Peter was noted in the census as a Collector whilst living at Little Napier Street Paddington.
• 1877 per the poem ‘The Battle Axe’ Philip was 34 years old and Annie was 21 living together in their home with the mother in law. Must have been in Sydney, address not known. Per sands directory no address listed for either Peter or Philip.
• 1877 Relationship breakdown likely and Philip’s consequent emotional breakdown to follow.
• 1877 11th August jail Darlinghurst Drunk 2 days sentence
• 1878 18th February Peter Alexander Lorimer married Mary Agatha Martin daughter of Late Nathaniel Martin of Bristol.at St Mary's Pro Cathedral Roman Catholic Sydney.
• 1878 18th November Philip went missing from Merriwa Hunter region heading in direction of Cassilis. Missing persons ad from Peter Lorimer

• 1880 September 4 Orangeism at Goulburn. Article the Protestant Standard. Clearly a turning point in his life. Loss of faith. Move from Protestant to Catholic? Interesting though he was buried in the Anglican section of Rookwood Cemetery. Anglican being the middle road between Catholic and Protestant.
• 1880 27th October Philip has a Gold mine lease at Mt Werong in the Southern Highlands faces court for non payment of wages to employee of 12£ 15s court ordered payment.
• 1881 31st January Justina C E O Lorimer or Jessie Lorimer born Paddington daughter of Peter and Mary.
• 1881 2nd August Death of Marcus Clarke poet and writer and acquaintance of Philip.

• 1891 to 1895 in Wollongong, Berrima, Southern Highlands areas, Bowral, Mittagong.
• 1891 January Wollongong ‘Municipal Taxation as Now Imposed’. This poem talks of a block of land that Philip owned in the Wollongong area that accrued rates to a total of £20.
• 1892 January 4th Elizabeth Mary Martin (Rowe) mother of Mary A Martin and sister Annie died 359 Bourke Street Darlinghurst Sydney
• 1892 17th September Philip meets Lady Jersey the wife of the Governor of NSW in Kiama.
• 1893 Annie Martin at 359 Bourke Street Darlinghurst as per census.

• 1894 January Philip noted to be in Nowra ‘down on his luck’ per an article

• 1894 20th April Philip admitted to Liverpool Asylum suffering from disability. No relations. No means.
• 1894 September Peter Lorimer assaulted at address of ‘Braeside’ Fitzroy and Kirribilli Streets North Sydney per report.

• 1895 11th December Philip in Government Asylum for the infirm and destitute Parramatta. 
• 1895 to 1896 he spent time at Fackenders Dairy Farm Unanderra probable location of photo.
• 1896 to 1897 in Parramatta area in generally poor physical and mental health.
• 1896 “Gems we know in Illawarra” booklet printed by J Button Parramatta
• 1896 27th June Philip Lorimer advises that Messrs Angus and Robertson had agreed to publish his poems. Unfortunately this never eventuates probably due to Philips soon to be unsound mind.
• 1896 19th November Philip wrote a letter from Walkers Hospital Concord Parramatta 
• 1897 5th November death of Philip Lorimer at Rookwood Asylum and laid to rest in the Rookwood Cemetery Sydney with a moment cross over his grave bearing the words ‘At evening time it shall be light. He bringeth them unto the haven where then they would be’. The cross and monument were donated by a local newspaper. Grave of Philip Durham Lorimer Zone B Section CCC grave number 2205
• 1898 Gold Mining lease held by Peter Lorimer in Wellington NSW
• 1901 E A Petherick wrote Songs and Verses for Charlotte Russell Lorimer reluctantly and with very little respect of Philip or his poetry clearly displayed in the biograph specially for relatives and friends.
• 1903–1904 Mary Agatha Lorimer Martin address at Moulder Street Orange per census wife of Peter Lorimer. Where was he ? Peter noted he also resided there.
• 1903–1904 Cecilia Lorimer was at The Convent as a Public Servant per census
• 1904 Peter Russell knighted. 
• 1905 10th July Peter Nicol Russell died 
• 1905 Peter Lorimer lived at Moulder street Orange per notice for his sister Charlotte’s death.
• 1905 25th September Mary Martin/Lorimer died wife of Peter Lorimer in Orange aged 55 years buried at the Catholic Cemetery Orange.
• 1909 22nd December  Charlotte Lorimer presented statue and plaque at Sydney University. 
• 1911 3rd July Lady Charlotte Russell died
• 1911 will of Charlotte Russell £7000 to be invested and interest to Peter Lorimer for life then upon death put into trust for the 3 daughters which gave income for their lives.
• 1916 19th February Catherine Underwood Death
• 1917 16th April Peter Lorimer died in Orange notice declared him as Roman Catholic he arrived in Australia aged 22 years buried in Orange cemetery. Address declared late of 78 March Street Orange.
• 1919 and 1920 Cecily Lorimer address 139 West Street North Sydney census probably moved there following the death of her father Peter Lorimer in 1917.
• 1922 Lorimer 2  sisters living in North Sydney per clipping and annually traveling to Orange.
• 1924 Miss Jessie Lorimer secretary of the Meter Hospital charity events. 43 years
• 1925 Cecily Lorimer living 263 West Street North Sydney per census

• 1930 to 1933 all 3 Lorimer sisters lived at Te Whare 43 Palmer Street North Sydney Per death notice of Cecily, and also census.
• 1933 12th July Cecily Lorimer Death 43 Palmer Street North Sydney.
• 1934 Jessie and Juanita 43 Palmer Street North Sydney Census 
• 1937 census 2 Lorimer Sisters live at 43 Palmer street North Sydney per photo referred as “us"
• 1945 5th July Jessie and Agatha on court due to their premises at Raleigh Street North Sydney Jessie carried screaming from court. Refer article. 
• 1950 14th May Justina or Jessie and Juanita Agatha newspaper article squatting in allotment a little Arthur Street North Sydney. They moved here after the guest house in which they lived was sold.
• 1954 13th September Justina and Agatha living in Lane Cove National Park in the bush under a battered beach umbrella and in article throwing rocks at news reporters. This was after being evicted from Bradfield Park Housing Settlement. Refer article.
• 1959 25th September  Justina C E O  or Jessie Lorimer Death in Burwood and burial at Manly Cemetery. Aged 78 years
• 1961 27th February Agatha Guanita Lorimer Death and buried at Frenchs Forest Cemetery. Aged 75 years
• Many of his poems were collected after his death by his sister Charlotte about half are reflections and the other half are narrative and descriptive.
• All poems marked in the manuscript Printed 1871 are in Songs and Verses those not marked are not in Songs and Verses. Ie Songs and Verses poems are from the brochure ‘Poems’ printed in 1871 in Sydney. As a result she  did not have this manuscript most likely due to it being retained by Peter Lorimer considering it was his gift from the outset. From here it belonged to the daughters until their deaths  Due to photos of sisters being in the album, in later years, Guanita would have had the Album and Manuscript in the end in 1961 at the time of her death. It would have been passed onto unknown recipient?
